Care Planning

One of the first considerations for any drug treatment is care planning. At AAR Healthcare, our approach to care planning starts with a comprehensive assessment. This is our way of getting to know you medically, but also emotionally and psychologically. We will ask you questions such as:

  • Have you tried treatment before without achieving sustained recovery?
  • Have you ever been diagnosed with mental health issues like depression, anxiety, or PTSD?
  • What substances do you regularly use? How long have you used these substances?
  • What medical and other needs might you have?
  • Is there a history of substance use or mental health issues in your family?

This list is far from exhaustive. But by asking the right questions, our addiction and mental health specialists can learn enough about you to develop a tailored care plan that meets your individual needs and desires.

Designing Your Treatment Program

At AAR Healthcare, you can expect individualized recovery programs that treat the whole person as comprehensively as possible. Each client’s customized treatment program will naturally look different, but all will draw upon:

Physician Services

Our physician services are the first line of treatment for our clients’ addiction issues. These include detailed diagnostic assessments of each client, the management of withdrawal symptoms, and, when necessary, medication-assisted treatment (MAT) that utilizes buprenorphine (including Subutex, Suboxone, Sublocade), naltrexone (or Vivitrol), and a range of other medications to control cravings and manage withdrawal symptoms. We also offer Ambulatory Withdrawal Management (outpatient detox) for clients that will not be on a long-term MAT protocol.

Counseling Services

Our counseling programs help those we serve to uncover the root causes of their addictive behaviors and develop strategies for moving towards a drug- and alcohol-free life.

Among the many evidence-based therapeutic approaches we utilize are:
  • Cognitive-behavioral therapy
  • Dialectical behavior therapy
  • Motivational enhancement therapy
  • Contingency management
  • The Matrix Model
  • Family therapy

By combining treatments that focus on the mind and body, we empower clients with the tools they need to achieve long-term recovery.

Recovery Support Services

As part of the recovery support services experience, we provide practical support with housing, employment, and legal issues as well as other aspects of life that can increase the quality and sustainability of clients’ recoveries when they are prioritized and addressed. We coordinate care with your other healthcare providers (as necessary) while educating our clients and alumni in areas involving nutrition and sleep management as well as overall wellness.

A Hybrid Model of Care: In-Person and Telehealth

At AAR, we have designed a hybrid model of care in which we offer all our services in-person and via telehealth, while optimizing the composition based on COVID public health considerations, individual client circumstances, and the specific services offered. Our goal is simple: to adapt to your schedule and needs, not the other way around.

 Comprehensive Ongoing Treatment

Ongoing treatment programs will look different based upon each client’s needs, but our aim is to help those we serve reintegrate into everyday life as seamlessly as possible. Among other ways, we do this by means of ongoing therapy (albeit with less frequency) and continually supporting clients to facilitate establishing a strong support network. This helps to ensure that they make healthy life decisions that are in favor of sustained recovery.
