AAR Healthcare prioritizes reducing/removing barriers to receiving top-quality, customized addiction treatment with us. As such, we strive to be flexible with insurance and other payment options for our services such that money is less likely to stand in the way of receiving the care you deserve.
Commercial Insurance Payment Options
If paying with commercial insurance, the primary variables to consider are (1) if the provider (in this case, AAR Healthcare) is “in-network” (IN) or “out-of-network (OON) with your insurance carrier; (2) determining what your insurance will and will not cover; (3) what, if any, the anticipated “out-of-pocket” payment amount will be to you (the client)– this is driven by factors such as deductibles, coinsurance, and co-payments. Our team at AAR Healthcare will happily guide you through this process.
AAR Healthcare is currently in-network with TRICARE West & Magellan Healthcare
We are also in the process of working with many other insurance companies in California to expand this in-network list.
While AAR Healthcare does not yet accept Medi-Cal to cover the cost of treatment, we are pleased to share that we anticipate accepting Medi-Cal by the end of 2021. We will update this section accordingly as the timeline becomes more clear.
We also accept private pay for those clients that prefer not to use health insurance benefits and/or do not have comprehensive healthcare coverage. AAR Healthcare prioritizes pricing its private-pay treatment options such that the cost is not a significant barrier to receiving top-quality, evidence-based SUD treatment.

If you exhaust all the other possibilities, it might be necessary to consider private funding options to make your addiction treatment payment.
Private funding options may include:
- Taking out a low-interest loan through a third-party lender such as your bank
- Borrowing against or taking money out of your retirement funds — there may be tax penalties, so it’s important to meet with tax professionals before making that choice
- Using crowdsourced funding platforms like GoFundMe, which give your friends and family a chance to contribute to your addiction treatment payment
